PermaRock Brick Slips are a lightweight, flexible and breathable synthetic resin brick used to replicate brickwork.
PermaRock Brick Slips are facing and corner (pistol) brick slips which provide a natural, traditional brick appearance to wall surfaces. Manufactured from high quality raw materials using modern machinery and the skills of experienced craftsmen, these simulated bricks offer a multitude of outstanding product characteristics.
The brick slips offer flexible application and design features, and are durable, robust, impact resistant and easy to clean: Long maintenance intervals reduce follow-up costs.
The bricks slips are available in a range of 12 standard colours and 3 textures: Special colours, textures and sizes can be manufactured to special order. The Brick Slip Adhesive used to fix and joint the slips, is available in three standard colours (cement-grey, sand-white and dark grey).
Method of Application / Drying Conditions
Cementitious base coats are primed with PermaRock K & R Primer. Clean cement-free base coats do not require priming.
The wall area to be treated is marked out with string lines, usually to standard brick laying bond patterns and dimensions, and PermaRock Brick Slip Adhesive is applied onto the wall and combed horizontally with a notched trowel. The adhesive application rate is approx. 3 - 4 kg/m².
The brick facings / corners are applied into the freshly applied adhesive and floated into place, excluding any air pockets behind the tile. The adhesive mortar is brushed around the tiles to ensure that all edges are sealed, and the mortar within the joints is smoothed using an appropriately sized semi-dry brush. Additional mortar is applied as necessary to ensure full sealing around the tiles.
Once the adhesive mortar has dried, the joints are flush pointed using PermaRock Pointing Mortar (available in cement-grey).
Packaging
PermaRock Brick Slips are supplied in boxes containing 174 slips. PermaRock Brick Corner Slips are supplied in boxes containing 40 slips. PermaRock Brick Slip Adhesive and Brick Slip Pointing Mortar is supplied, ready mixed, in 25 kg plastic buckets.
