PermaRock, is a leading external wall insulation (EWI) and specialist render system designer, manufacturer, and supplier in the United Kingdom.

Established over 40 years ago, PermaRock has a wide range of experience designing and manufacturing external wall insulation and rendering systems, PermaRock’s philosophy of bringing performance and experience together with quality and innovation has culminated in the development of its current portfolio of products and services that acknowledge the requirements of the client, designer and end-user, enabling the creation of attractive, innovative and energy-efficient buildings that are aesthetically pleasing and functional.

PermaRock systems are equally suitable for new build and refurbishment and we have extensive experience working within all sub-sectors of these markets including housing (social and private), education, healthcare, and commercial sectors.

Render systems designed and supplied by PermaRock are only installed through our nationwide network of Registered Installers. These specialist installers are vetted, trained and monitored by PermaRock to help ensure quality standards are maintained.

PermaRock provides comprehensive levels of Technical Service with support including tailored specifications, product samples, thermal and dew point calculations, budget costings, detail drawings, site support for the contractor, and culminating in after-sales care and advice to all parties.

PermaRock has also invested heavily in third-party testing which has resulted in our key systems carrying accreditation through the Building Research Establishment (BRE) certification process.

Additionally, PermaRock operates its Quality Management System under BS EN 9001: 2015 and Environmental Management System (BS EN ISO 14001:2015, which encompasses the design, manufacture, and supply of our systems, and also the provision of technical supervisory services throughout the contract - view our Environmental and Quality Management System Policy Statement.

Furthermore, PermaRock offers a comprehensive range of guarantees and warranties to provide the highest levels of surety for our customers, including if required, independent insurance-backed policies for additional long-term peace of mind.

PermaRock was originally part of Blundell Permoglaze, a coatings company based in Hull.

The first Major UK Project in the Wirral using Thermarend insulating render (externall wall insulation) was carried out.

Thermarend became the first external wall insulation (EWI) system to be tested and accredited in the UK by the British Board of Agrément (BBA).

PermaRock became a founder member of the External Wall Insulation Association (EWIA) - now known as the Insulated Render & Cladding Association (INCA).

PermaRock started using a Polystyrene (EPS) System developed to meet changes to Building Regulations.

PermaRock became an independent company after a successful management buy-out from Blundell Permoglaze, led by Dr Rodger Canning, eventually moving operations from Hull to Loughborough.

PermaRock became the UK’s major supplier of Mineral Fibre systems and PermaRock were awarded the first mineral fibre EWI British Board of Agrément Certificate.

PermaRock moved to larger premises in Loughborough and installed additional manufacturing equipment for renders and adhesives.

PermaRock was awarded an Agrément Certificate for a Polystyrene (EPS) System.

PermaRock achieved compliance to the Quality Assurance Quality standard, BS EN ISO 9001 for production, installation & technical service. (Formerly BS5750).

PermaRock EWI systems were assessed & certificated by Building Research Establishment (BRE) including application of mineral fibre and polystyrene based systems uniquely to Timber and Metal Frame structures.

PermaRock was taken over by the Horrocks Group.

PermaRock was awarded BRE (WIMLAS) certification of a CFC/HCFC free Phenolic EWI System.

PermaRock add additional warehousing capacity adjacent to the main office and production facility to cope with increased demand.

PermaRock install new manufacturing plant to increase production capacity, improve manufacturing efficiencies, cutting down on manual handling and release further warehousing space.

PermaRock, as part of the Horrocks Group, became part of eaga plc on 1st November.

PermaRock join as a full member (system designer / manufactuter) of the National Insulation Association (NIA).

PermaRock, as part of the Eaga plc, became part of Carillion plc on 21st April

PermaRock obtain UKAS Building Research Establishment (BRE) Certification (Certificate No. 158/12) for its key external wall insulation and render systems.

PermaRock achieved compliance to the Environmental Management Standard, BS EN ISO 14001 for the design, manufacture and supply of its external wall insulation and render systems.

PermaRock Products Ltd acquired by Sustainable Building Solutions (UK) Ltd on 31 August 2012.

PermaRock become members of the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA).

PermaRock systems approved by the ECO Kinnell Guarantee Scheme. 

PermaRock obtain UKAS BBA European Technical Assessments (ETA) - Certificate No. 14/0335 for its PIR external wall insulation system.

PermaRock add additional warehousing capacity adjacent to the main office and production facility to cope with increased demand.

PermaRock's product design data becomes compliant with Level 2 BIM (Building Information Modelling) for our key EWI / Render Systems and is available online at the NBS National BIM Library.

PermaRock become a member of the Supply Chain Sustainablity School (an industry-wide collaboration whose vision is to be “A world class collaboration to enable a sustainable built environment”).
