Overview
PermaRock Products Ltd is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of external render and insulated render systems based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, and operating throughout the UK. We are seeking a Systems Technician, ideally based in the East Midlands, to join our Technical Services Team on a full time basis.
The role is largely ‘field based’ and involves providing a high-quality technical support service to PermaRock External Wall Insulation (EWI) and Exterior Render systems registered installers, operating throughout the UK.
The individual will be required to attend construction sites to carry out inspections of the installation of PermaRock system materials, to undertake testing and evaluations as required and to develop a sound knowledge of PermaRock systems along with current UK building/construction methods and practices and the requirements set out in PAS 2030/2035 relating to EWI systems.
The role requires flexibility in working hours and the individual may, from time to time, be required to undertake overnights stays to enable full time attendance on site on specific projects. Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience. A full, clean UK driving licence is also required and a company vehicle will be provided.
Job Description
- Always work in a safe manner and with an understanding of current Health and Safety requirements and practices.
- Work with Technical Services team to provide an efficient, high quality technical support service to internal and external customers.
- Carry out in-situ pull-out tests of fixings and fasteners as required. (Training will be provided)
- Develop a thorough understanding of PermaRock products, systems and materials. (Training will be provided)
- Keep abreast of new product developments.
- Attend sites where PermaRock registered installers are installing PermaRock EWI or external render systems (note: overnight stops may be required)
- Advise Operatives in the mixing & application of PermaRock materials.
- Ensure PermaRock Systems and products are being applied in accordance with Manufacturers recommendations and PermaRock Specifications.
- Advise site management of any non-conformances identified during site visits.
- Produce site visit reports and issue out to relevant parties.
- Assist with the preparation of test samples, display samples and models, as required by the Business.
Person Specification
The individual is required to be confident, be capable of working as part of a team and independently when required. The individual shall be comfortable in a construction site environment. They shall be practically minded and able to work with a range of products and materials. They will work in a safe manner at all times and use appropriate PPE when at work.
The individual shall represent the Company in a professional manner at all times. They will be capable of communicating in a clear and unambiguous manner and shall have previous experience of insulated render system products and installation along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook (email). The individual shall have or shall be required to obtain as soon as practicably possible, an appropriate CSCS card.
