Permarock Roofline Closure Systems enable retrofit designers to develop PAS-compliant solutions for protecting insulated render systems on projects where extending the roofline is not feasible.

In 2024, the UK Government announced that, subject to certain conditions and design principles, Roofline Closure Systems could be used on PAS-compliant retrofit projects. These design principles were developed by a working group set up by the National Insulation Association (NIA), the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA), and the Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) – all working in conjunction with the UK Government, BSI, the Retrofit Standards Task Group and Trustmark.

The group agreed new Design Principles and an updated Weathering Guide (“External Wall Insulation Specification For Weathering And Thermal Bridge Control Guide, August 2024.”) These documents set out ways in which Roofline Closure Systems can properly be incorporated into retrofit designs and remain compliant with the requirements of PAS2030/2035.

Routes to Compliance

There are two routes via which Retrofit Designers can develop PAS-compliant designs. The first involves using one of the 13 standard details shown in the Weathering Guide. The second is to apply the core Design Principles when developing bespoke retrofit designs to suit individual projects and archetypes. These design principles are explained in our Roofline Closure Systems brochure.

Products and Technical Support

We offer products and technical support to ensure that clients can develop PAS-compliant solutions that, in turn, will meet Trustmark’s lodgement requirements. Our systems meet all the relevant material specification requirements and can be configured to suit properties of different archetypes and in different environments.

We also provide appropriate training for registered installers.
