Award-winning Council Office Refurbishment

PermaRock is delighted to be associated with the award-winning refurbished Eastleigh Borough Council offices (Eastleigh House).

The refurbished office (brick and block gables with concrete frame) has undergone a major transformation into what is now a modern looking and sustainable building.

The scheme achieved a BREEAM Rating: 'Excellent at Design Stage' and  has picked up two architecture awards, one for 'Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace' at the British Council for Offices (BCO) South West and Wales awards and one for 'Best Commercial Building' at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) South East awards.

Project Architect, Stride Treglown, specified the PermaRock EPS-Premium external wall insulation system with a SiliconeUltra K 1.5 mm to the main elevations to achieve the high levels of thermal performance required and the PermaRock Mineral Fibre Lamella external wall insulation system with a SiliconeUltra K 1.5 mm to curved areas due to its suitability for application onto curved surfaces.

Working closely with building designers, PermaRock can advise from design stage through to installation on how the external wall insulation element of a project can help meet low carbon design requirements and assist in contributing to or exceeding Passivhaus, BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes (Levels 4-6) and similar performance standards.

Through the use of a PermaRock external wall insulation system, heating demand can be dramatically reduced, conserving energy and reducing CO2 emissions and very airtight façades can be created - important factors in the design of energy efficient buildings.
