Permarock offers a wide range of external wall insulation systems, renders and finishes that are extremely well suited to new-build projects in the education sector.

That includes the construction of schools, colleges, student accommodation blocks, university lecture halls and laboratories.

Our systems offer architects and facilities managers a host of important benefits.

  • A1-rated non-combustible mineral wool insulation with fire classification A2-s1,d0
  • Exceptional thermal performance – warmer in winter, cooler in summer
  • Very low U-values can be achieved
  • Enables reduced energy consumption, minimising heating and cooling costs
  • Helps to prevent issues such as condensation and mould growth, which can be costly and disruptive to learning environments
  • Excellent acoustic insulation – minimising extraneous noise and distractions
  • Category I impact resistance comes as standard
  • Durable and flexible
  • A broad range of colour-fast shades and finishes
  • Affords flexibility in design, with various textures and colours to match organisational branding or community preferences
  • Dirt-resistant finishes stay looking clean and bright for longer

Permarock Mineral Fibre EWI systems (for Masonry, Concrete and Light Gauge Steel Frame substrates) are assessed as suitable for use in educational buildings, meeting the requirements of:

  • School Output Specification Technical Annex 2C (design/specification for external fabric in schools)

  • Health Building Note 00-10 Part B (design/specification for walls and ceilings)

  • Zurich Municipal’s ‘School and academy design’ (fire safety and durability for education environments)

Supported by third-party certification with KIWA, our mineral fibre systems are ideal for use on schools, academies, colleges, and other educational facilities.

Our external wall insulation systems enable designers to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency. This, in turn, helps to reduce day-to-day running costs by reducing the need for space-heating in cold weather, and by reducing the need for cooling and ventilation in summer. In this way, our products help to maintain a more constant, comfortable indoor temperature, enabling staff and students to stay focused on their work.

Our products include systems that exhibit excellent reaction to fire performance, and achieve an A2-s1,d0 fire classification in accordance with BS EN 13501-1. Consequently, they are suited for use on high-rise and low-rise buildings including those with floor levels above 11 metres.

For projects where external insulation is not required, our render systems and specialist finishes are still excellent choices. They combine effective and long-lasting protection against weathering with an extensive range of colours and finishes.
