Industry & Stakeholder Engagement

Working closely with clients and specifiers is of course a crucial part of our everyday activities, but Permarock’s wider engagement with industry representatives and stakeholders is also very important. That very point has been evidenced over recent weeks, as we’ve played host to a number of influential visitors here at our facilities in Loughborough .

External Wall Insulation theory seminar

Over the last two months, for example, we were pleased to welcome teams from TrustMark, who took part in two scheduled collaborative training sessions and a workshop, which all focused on PAS-compliance in the design and installation of external wall insulation systems.

Drawing upon our 40+ years of experience in the retrofit and decarbonisation sector, the sessions combined technical insight, best practice guidance, reviews of theory, and practical demonstrations with an opportunity for hands on participation in our dedicated training facility. They provided a valuable occasion for open discussion, shared learning, and a productive exchange of industry-wide knowledge.

Like TrustMark, we are committed to supporting high-quality, PAS-compliant retrofit delivery across the refurbishment sector. It was with this in mind that, just a fortnight earlier, we had hosted a visit by a delegation from CHIC (Communities and Housing Investment Consortium) Ltd. They had visited Permarock, and our sister company, as part of a nationwide tour of their framework’s supply-chain partners.

Leading the session on Permarock’s part, Sales & Technical Director Richard Tocher offered an experienced overview of the role of external wall insulation in both new-build and retrofit projects, and he emphasised its importance in the journey towards net zero. He was accompanied in the presentation by Robin Evans, Senior Business Development Manager at our sister company Sustainable Building Services (SBS). He outlined the company’s extensive experience of large-scale decarbonisation projects, and highlighted some of the important lessons that SBS had learned over many years of steady growth.

At Permarock, we place great value on sharing knowledge and strengthening working relationships of all kinds. We were therefore also pleased to be visited by Luke Wright, Procurement for Housing’s account manager for the south and southwest regions. Luke was interested in expanding his already existing understanding of external wall insulation systems, designs and technologies. Part of his visit included a tour of our offices, laboratory and warehousing facilities, which was led by our Logistics Director Kieran Loftus. It also included a session with Richard Tocher, who provided more insights into our insulated render systems and their role in improving energy efficiency, enhancing people’s living conditions and fighting fuel poverty.

We’d like to thank all our visitors for their time and for working with us to boost awareness of EWI technologies and to raise standards across the sector and would offer an open invitation to similar industry partners and stakeholders to arrange a visit to meet the team and share learning here at Permarock.
