Caparol’s research and development team has also now set an even higher standard for façade systems. After a series of tests over many years coupled with purposeful raw materials selection and defined manufacturing processes, Caparol has addressed the long standing problem of maintaining clean facades to ensure that exterior surfaces retain their colour and cleanliness from the day that material is applied, throughout the lifetime of the façade system.
The Caparol Clean Concept® research has adopted nano-technology: Using defined pigment filler combinations, nano-structured surfaces have been developed which reduce the tendency of dirt particles to adhere to surfaces. Nano-scale TiO2 pigments have been introduced to provide a photo-catalytic effect, resulting in the breakdown of dirt particles into tiny fragments which are readily carried away when rainwater washes the surface.
Caparol Clean Concept® products incorporate silicone resin bonding agents with low surface tension and a capillary hydrophobic effect that reduces absorption of water whilst allowing water vapour to escape from the building.
Surfaces treated with Caparol Clean Concept® materials offer fast drying after rainfall, and maintain a clean, fresh surface appearance for longer.
